EWMPs identify important water dependent species and set objectives to protect them over the next five to 10 years. The plans identify areas that could be improved by environmental water and describe the flows that would need to be delivered to meet ecological objectives of the site. This information helps water managers prioritise where and when environmental water is delivered, in line with environmental cues and seasonal conditions.
